It is a day on an electric bike from Urban Bikery, a shop on Via Ricci ten metres from
Piazza Grande. You collect the bike, get the route, and ride. Nobody
rides with you: the shop plans the day and stays on the phone.
There are two days to choose from, and they go to different places. The wine ride stays
around Montepulciano, rolls down past San Biagio and stops at two cellars for tastings. The
long ride heads out into the Val d'Orcia, towards Monticchiello and Pienza, with lunch in
the fare and no tasting.
The motor matters here. The town sits on a ridge, and every ride out ends with a climb
back up.

How fit do I need to be for an e-bike day?
The wine ride asks you to ride confidently on white gravel roads with ups and downs. The motor does most of the climbing, but the last climb back into town is steep. Riders with back problems are advised not to book.
Can I drink and ride?
The wine ride pours eight wines across two cellars, so pace yourself and use the spittoon. If you want to taste freely, take a cellar hour on foot instead and ride another day.
What happens if it rains?
Both bike days can be cancelled for bad weather, and you are offered another date or a refund. The wine ride's fare includes a rain jacket for showers.
Where do I park?
Below the walls. Parking 8 and San Donato are the two the operators name in their own meeting-point text, and both of them mean a climb. Leave time for it if you are meeting a guide at the top.
Can I cancel?
